BasicNet gets America's outdoor legend
The BasicNet Group, owner of Kappa, Robe di Kappa, K-Way, Superga, Sebago and Briko, announced the acquisition of the Woolrich brand for the European market from investment fund L-GAM on November 12. The Turin-based group is thus expanding its portfolio to include a traditional outdoor label that was founded in Pennsylvania in 1830.

The transaction with a total value of 90 million euros includes the acquisition of 100% of Woolrich Europe S.p.A. and the brand rights for Europe. The purchase price will be paid in cash (EUR 28 million) and in the form of 1.2 million BasicNet shares. An additional performance-related payment is planned for the period 2026 to 2028. With this step, BasicNet is integrating a brand into its own portfolio that stands for authenticity, heritage and outdoor expertise - famous for the legendary Arctic Parka and the iconic Buffalo Check pattern. The aim is to reposition Woolrich on the European and international markets in close cooperation with the Asian partner Baoxiniao.

"We are delighted to welcome Woolrich to the BasicNet family," explain Lorenzo and Alessandro Boglione, CEOs of the Group. "The brand embodies exactly the values and cultural depth that define our vision."

The transaction is scheduled to be completed by December 2025.
