SKERGETH X EDARA
Shaped by shared values
There are collaborations that are more than just a fashionable experiment—they are an expression of an attitude.
This also applies to the creative collaboration between Julia Skergeth, founder of the Vienna-based handbag label of the same name, and Angelina Gergenreder, designer of the Munich-based womenswear label Edara. Their first joint hat collection, produced in collaboration with the traditional Viennese manufacturer Mühlbauer, is a statement of authenticity, quality, and relevance.
At a time when luxury is increasingly being redefined, the collections by Skergeth and Edara represent the values of a new customer—discerning, conscious, but free from old status codes. For their collaboration, the two creatives have dedicated themselves to a special product group: hats. The capsule collection comprises two specific styles: a toque silhouette and a hat with a brim, made by the Mühlbauer hat manufacturer directly in their studio in Vienna. The range is complemented by a woolen headscarf. But why hats? "Because I think they radiate a very special elegance. They have the ability to completely transform a look – that has always fascinated me," explains Julia Skergeth. The collection was inspired by vintage hats, including one belonging to Julia Skergeth's grandmother – a symbol of continuity and emotion. "I am convinced that we are currently in a period of upheaval. Customers are increasingly looking for authenticity – genuine emotions, real experiences, honesty in the product."
This attitude was also evident in the Vienna pop-up, which ran for a month and redefined encounters: the one-month concept store saw itself as a living mood board for the two designers—a curated environment that changed weekly. In addition to selected pieces from the Edara collection, Skergeth accessories, and the joint capsule collection, art, books, furniture, design, and lifestyle objects complemented the range. A central component was also a café as a place for encounters. Every Thursday, the "Creators Thursdays" format invited visitors to get-togethers, tastings, and discussions with artists as a bridge between creativity and community.
This collaboration symbolizes a new era in womenswear: minimalist, conscious, with substance. A return to craftsmanship as an attitude—for products with meaning.
