Schott
Transatlantic Family Business
When two families have been working together for over 50 years, they share a history. What is yours?
Bruno Dauman, CEO of Groupe JAJ: We have been working with Schott since the 1970s, initially as a distributor. At the beginning of the 1990s, we finally took over the license for Europe and the Middle East. Since then, we have been managing, developing, and producing the collection.
Curse or blessing: How are they developing Schott beyond the iconic bomber jacket?
Schott has a strong heritage with its jackets, which are influenced by authentic military, biker, and American lifestyles. Every design builds on this DNA. At the same time, we incorporate trends into our fabrics, cuts, and finishes. We also have many collaborations with artists and brands such as Jean-Paul Gauthier, Walk in Paris, and Samsøe Samsøe, as well as stores such as BSTN, Anita Hass, and LFDY.
How much of Paris is in the collection?
A lot! Paris is where we started. We generate 65 percent of our sales in France. Alongside Germany, Spain, Italy, and the UK, it is our most important market.
