Messe Frankfurt and Supima Launch Exclusive Fabric Sourcing Event in New York
Messe Frankfurt is expanding its international textile portfolio with a new, curated event format: Prefab, an exclusive sourcing event for high-quality fabrics, will make its debut on January 19 and 20, 2027, at the Altman Building in New York City.

In partnership with Supima, the association of manufacturers and processors of the premium cotton brand SUPIMA, Messe Frankfurt brings together select fabric manufacturers with designers, product developers, and sourcing and purchasing managers from leading premium and luxury brands.

The event centers on a boutique concept featuring approximately 40 select Supima member companies. Instead of large exhibition booths, Prefab relies on a unified, design-oriented presentation that emphasizes material quality, professional expertise, and personal interaction. The goal is to foster high-quality business contacts and build long-term partnerships throughout the textile value chain.

The exhibition features high-quality fabrics made from SUPIMA cotton—ranging from shirt and suit fabrics to denim and knitwear, as well as innovative textile constructions. Extra-long-staple Pima cotton from the United States is recognized worldwide as a symbol of exceptional fiber quality, durability, softness, and color brilliance.

“New York is one of the world’s most important fashion markets and the ideal location for a deliberately selective format,” says Jennifer Bacon, Vice President of Fashion and Apparel Shows at Messe Frankfurt Inc. “Prefab brings together outstanding Supima member companies with decision-makers from leading brands in an environment that is entirely focused on professional expertise and long-term partnerships.”

The new event is part of Messe Frankfurt’s strategy to expand its international portfolio of high-quality textile trade shows. At the same time, Value Milan will make its debut from February 3 to 5, 2027, targeting the European market with a curated concept. Both events complement Messe Frankfurt’s global Texpertise Network and create new platforms for quality-oriented sourcing.
