What began as a platform for new German fashion and design has now reached the art scene: Curator Julian Daynov presented “Neudeutsch Art,” a new chapter in his curatorial format, at the Enter Art Fair in Copenhagen. 

Copenhagen is not unfamiliar territory for Neudeutsch. In the past, Daynov brought German fashion brands and creatives to the Danish capital as part of the Copenhagen International Fashion Fair (CIFF), creating a platform for a younger, international perspective on German creativity. Now he is applying this approach to the arts: From August 27 to 30,“Neudeutsch Art” brought togetherworks of painting, sculpture, and object design, placing diverse artistic positions within a shared context. Specific participants included Anna Deller-Yee, Anna Zimmermann, Armin Dietrich, Budde Studio, Charlotte Adam, Case Studios, Franziska Narzinski, Helena Hafemann, Jelly, Léo Besnier, Luis Frey, Moritz Berg, Nils Holger Moormann, Pia Scheiber, Tobi Olsen, Tobias Vetter, Tugyan Cengiz, Valentin Elias Renner, Viola Del Monte, and Zeynep Boyan. 

For Daynov, the core of the initiative lies not so much in the goal of conducting a national survey as in a mindset: “It’s about a contemporary German sensibility that is self-assured, internationally oriented, and willing to take aesthetic risks. The goal is to create a framework in which different perspectives can resonate with one another, transcending geographical categorizations.”
