The accessory label Marie-Marie Amsterdam is new to the portfolio of the Knierer-Höhensteiger agency.
Founded in 2022 by Marthe de Groot, it combines loving craftsmanship with the finest storytelling. The starting point was a crocheted bag from her grandmother's crochet club. From this, de Groot developed a concept that focuses on community, sustainability, and design.
The concept is based on crochet communities in the Netherlands, where women work together to make bags and accessories. Instead of anonymous production processes, Marie-Marie deliberately focuses on the makers: they are part of the brand and shape its identity. Handicrafts are not interpreted nostalgically, but used as a contemporary approach to storytelling.
Crocheting is a means of networking, and the creative process is part of the product. For retailers, the brand offers not only an extraordinary accessory, but also a credible story about community, transparency, and individuality—topics that are becoming increasingly relevant in the market. Retail prices range from €29 for clip-on flowers to wallets and mini shoppers to large shoppers for €159.
