Benny Mandos founded Got Bag with the idea of turning plastic waste from the ocean into something valuable. Today, the bags strike a chord for more than just that reason.

Benny, how did Got Bag come about? 

Benny Mandos, founder and CEO of Got Bag: The idea came from my passion for water sports. I saw early on how much our oceans suffer from plastic waste. In 2018, I founded Got Bag to address precisely that issue: turning waste into something useful with minimalist bags and backpacks made from recycled plastic. 

How did the collection develop? 

It all started with our roll-top backpack. Today, we are a comprehensive travel and lifestyle brand, with retail prices ranging from €39 to €119 for bags and €69 to €189 for backpacks. The Fall/Winter 2026/27 collection places a stronger focus on handbags, with new shapes, vibrant colors, and technical sophistication. We are particularly proud of the Moon Bag Ruffle, a shoulder and crossbody bag that can be worn in a minimalist, functional way as well as in a playful and sophisticated way. 

What makes your products special? 

We combine timeless design with real impact. Our clean-up program in Indonesia is a key part of this: plastic is collected with the help of local communities in coastal regions and an effective waste management system is created. We develop our own materials, such as Re:Pet and Re:Nynet. The design remains clean to leave room for our attitude and innovation. 

And in sales? 

Got Bag has established itself in direct sales through massive success in the D-A-CH region and has also expanded its international presence with a second headquarters in the USA. In other key European markets such as Spain, Italy, France, Belgium, Poland, and Finland, we are successfully collaborating with sales agencies. The clear strategic goal is to consistently expand the sales network throughout Europe and, in the future, on a global level. Our community is loyal and interested, which also makes our brand attractive for brick-and-mortar retailers.
