Ecoalf
PETA Vegan Award 2026
The Spanish sustainable fashion brand Ecoalf was named “Best Vegan Sneaker” in the Fashion category at the 2026 PETA Vegan Awards for its “Bapsom Strenk” sneaker.
With this award, the animal rights organization recognizes companies that are driving innovation in the fashion industry through the use of animal-free materials and innovative product development.
This award-winning sneaker exemplifies Ecoalf’s sustainability strategy, which focuses on the circular economy, resource conservation, and alternative materials. The model is made from recycled polyamide, among other materials. By using recycled materials instead of newly produced raw materials, the goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, conserve fossil resources, and close material loops.
With this award, Ecoalf builds on its longstanding commitment to vegan product development. As early as 2019, the company received PETA Approved Vegan certification and, as part of this initiative, accelerated its move away from animal-derived materials such as feathers and down. Back in 2018, the brand was recognized by PETA UK for a collaborative project with the label Felder Felder, in which vegan footwear was developed using pineapple leaf fibers.
Ecoalf was founded in 2009 and has since grown into an international lifestyle and fashion brand. The company uses recycled and regenerated materials from various waste streams, including plastics, fishing nets, and textile scraps. Its goal is to develop high-quality products with the lowest possible environmental impact while reducing dependence on new raw materials.
The company is garnering additional attention thanks to its B Corp certification, which underscores its commitment to transparency, social responsibility, and sustainable business practices. With its recent PETA Vegan Award, Ecoalf is strengthening its position in the growing market for sustainable and animal-free fashion and setting another benchmark for innovative material solutions in the footwear and apparel industry. In Germany, Ecoalf shoes are distributed by the agency Orderlounge, in Switzerland by the agency EinsZweiZweiEins, and in Austria by Room With A View.
