In men's fashion for Spring/Summer 2027, we're seeing that heritage is no longer viewed as a nostalgic reference, but rather as an active approach to shaping the present and the future. Do you also notice this shift?
Robin Plijter, Design Director at Dstrezzed: Yes, absolutely. This shift aligns very closely with the way we’ve developed our collections in recent years. At Dstrezzed, one of our core beliefs is to respect classics while always reinterpreting them in a contemporary way. Instead of copying the past, we use it as a foundation to create something new and relevant.
What does that look like in practice?
Our approach is what we like to call a “Modern Style Clash.” For example, we take the iconic design of an MA-1 bomber jacket but reimagine it in an unexpected bouclé fabric instead of the classic nylon. Or we flip the approach and use a classic suit fabric, which we elevate with a more casual, modern silhouette—such as an overshirt with a zipper. It’s about honoring heritage while keeping everything fresh and dynamic. In a way, it’s like the best advice your grandfather ever gave you: you appreciate it, but ultimately use it to write your own story.
