New owners bring fresh entrepreneurial spirit

The Hamburg-based brand Closed is entering the future with a strong duo: the Bock family of entrepreneurs and fashion professional Dieter Holzer are taking over the long-established company. The Hamburg location will remain in place and the business will continue to operate independently, from wholesale to retail to online and outlets, with around 330 employees.

The shares in the new Closed NewCo GmbH are clearly distributed: 74.9 percent are held by the Bock family, 25.1 percent by Dieter Holzer, who will also act as CEO in the future. The previous managing directors Gordon Giers (CPO) and Til Nadler (CSO) will remain on board. "Closed is an original! Since 1978, this wonderful brand has stood for authenticity, craftsmanship, innovation, premium quality and sustainability - and it inspires customers worldwide," says Werner Bock. His son Maximilian will take over as Chairman of the new Advisory Board.

For insolvency administrator Stefan Denkhaus, the outcome was foreseeable: "The brand has enormous appeal. The Bock and Holzer families have presented a convincing concept. We have found strong strategic partners." A little homework remains: Store numbers and personnel structure are still being finalized. Denkhaus: "I would like to thank all employees who have shown impressive dedication over the last two months."
