New Platform for Textile Expertise and the Circular Economy
The Italian textile specialist Manteco is opening a new space in Parto dedicated to bringing people together, inspiring them, and sharing knowledge.

The Casa Manteco project, developed in collaboration with the Milan-based design studio FormaFantasma, brings the company’s history, values, and innovative spirit to life for visitors.

At the heart of the exhibition is the Galleria, which deliberately goes beyond the traditional concept of a corporate museum. Historical photographs, interactive media, and original production tools trace Manteco’s evolution from its beginnings in 1943 to the present day. At the same time, the exhibition highlights how Prato’s rich textile heritage has continued to evolve through research, innovation, and a commitment to social responsibility.

The exhibition is complemented by various themed areas. The Sala Tessuti serves as an inspiring showroom for current collections and creative exchange. The company’s textile heritage is documented in the Archivio—an extensive collection that serves as a source of inspiration for both customers and the internal creative team. The Giardino provides a space for encounters and conversations, while the Circularity Lab illustrates the steps of Manteco’s journey toward a circular economy. Finally, the Studio is where the fabric developments and collections of the future are created.

FormaFantasma is responsible for the conceptual design. The design studio envisions Casa Manteco as an open platform for research and storytelling. Materials, production processes, and knowledge are interwoven in such a way that visitors can discover the connections between raw materials, craftsmanship, culture, and the ecological context.

“Casa stands for hospitality and a sense of belonging,” explains Franco Mantellassi, President of Manteco. He notes that the company has always been more than just a production facility—it is, in fact, a place of human connections, shaped by customers, partners, and employees.

Manteco is one of the leading manufacturers of high-quality wool fabrics and is regarded as a pioneer in the circular textile economy. Production takes place entirely in Tuscany via the certified and traceable MSystem supply chain. With its own wool brands such as MWool and ReviWool, as well as numerous sustainability initiatives, the company sets international standards.

Casa Manteco is open to visitors by appointment.
