Expansion in the wholesale sector
The Berlin-based activewear label Ante was founded in 2023 by Julian Weigl, Marcus Butler, and Christian Zellin.
The brand is based on the idea that running is as much a cultural practice as it is a physical one, and designs “Forward Wear” pieces that transition seamlessly from workouts to everyday life. With their distinctive creative vision, they have quickly built a dedicated community that has propelled the brand to the forefront of modern running culture. Following collaborations with brands such as adidas and Breuninger, they are now opening their first standalone retail space at KaDeWe on the newly redesigned fourth floor. The running and lifestyle brand is already represented in leading concept stores and department stores worldwide; however, the space at KaDeWe is their first permanent location under their own name. “Berlin is where Ante began—the city has shaped our view of running and design. KaDeWe is the most iconic department store here, and having a permanent space in our own city—where people can really try on and feel the pieces—means a great deal to us. For us, it was a clear decision,” explain the three founders.
