Grand Dame, Reimagined

Anne Bernecker and her label of the same name don't fit into the classic "underground designer" narrative—and that is precisely where their strength lies.
Since 2015, she has been designing womenswear from existing vintage pieces, which she alters, reassembles, and embellishes with intricate embroidery. The starting point is what already exists. Each piece remains one-of-a-kind: cuts, materials, and proportions vary, complemented by limited-edition embellishments. The silhouette is often designed to be unisex, without losing any of its presence. It’s a form of everyday glamour that doesn’t require grand gestures. Playful yet controlled, and with a natural ease that you don’t often see.
