Marco Lanowy, Managing Director of Alberto: Many people are now realizing where they may have been dressing up in the past. There is a return to honest favorite pieces, to casualness, but with sophistication. Against this backdrop, materials are telling stories again. Wide-leg pants made of French wool blend stand for elegance, for parties, while the same model in washed cotton tells a completely different story.
What are you focusing on with the fall/winter collection?
We focus on materiality, not price ranges. We continue to offer wool-mix qualities in new colors and silhouettes; the preppy look remains, but is more wearable. The key is always balance: versatile, but never disguised.
Where does this even stronger focus on the material come from?
The desire for quality is enormous. Our concept of Touchable Pants has always stood for this: materials that you want to feel, that you enjoy wearing. This also has an impact on the life cycle—our aim is to create favorite pieces that remain relevant in the long term.
