Mustang
"Trust is built in everyday life"
For our 100th issue, we’re deliberately focusing on the concept of trust. What does trust mean to you?
Caroline Christel, Product Management, and Markus Schentz, General Management: For us, trust isn’t something abstract—it’s built in everyday life. When a product delivers on its promises, when partners can count on us, when customers know: This is the right fit, and it’s here to stay. For Mustang, trust means, above all, reliability. We make clothing that’s authentic—in quality, in our approach, and in our communication. This also includes a responsible use of materials, processes, and long-term decisions. For us, this isn’t a short-term trend, but a fundamental prerequisite for acting with integrity.
In an industry heavily influenced by trends and rapid cycles, Mustang focuses on timelessness. How does it manage to consistently deliver on this promise?
We draw inspiration from trends, but we don’t follow them blindly. Our focus is on products that work regardless of the season. We achieve this primarily through three things: clean designs, high-quality materials, and a consistent approach. When the product is right, communication becomes easier because we don’t have to explain anything. Quality and durability play a central role in this. Our goal is to develop products that can be worn for a long time and remain relevant over the long term. The positive feedback we receive from our customers and partners is the best proof that this approach works.
Looking ahead: What issues are currently at the top of your agenda?
Our focus is clearly on continued development without losing sight of our roots. This includes the consistent refinement of our materials and quality standards, as well as the increased use of certified materials; the expansion of long-term, reliable partnerships worldwide; the strengthening of our brand through clear, consistent communication; the development of products that bear our own distinctive signature and clearly stand out from the competition; carrying on the tradition and identity of the Mustang brand, and further expanding our presence in the B2B and B2C sectors. At the same time, we are committed to being even closer to our customers, understanding their needs, and developing products that are truly relevant.
