On December 4, MAC Mode GmbH & Co. KGaA will be awarded the German Sustainability Award Products 2026 for its "Circular Nettle Jeans".
The jury was impressed by the innovative use of nettle fibers as a renewable raw material and the resource-conserving approach along the entire textile chain. The jeans are made from nettle and recycled cotton, are designed to be single-origin and can be returned to the material cycle via a take-back system. "This award is a strong signal for us and confirmation that innovation and responsibility can go hand in hand," says Eveline Schönleber, Managing Partner of the company.
