Ireland Goes to Zurich

Ireland Goes to Zurich
Ireland's fashion and beauty industry is presenting itself on the international stage with a confidence rarely seen before.

Traditional craftsmanship meets contemporary design, sustainability, and entrepreneurial innovation. The “Enterprise Ireland Irish Fashion & Beauty Buyer Showroom,” taking place on September 2, 2026, at the historic Zunfthaus zur Meisen in Zurich, offers a glimpse into this evolution.

In the fashion world, Ireland is synonymous with the revival of materials and techniques steeped in tradition—from wool and linen to tweed and knitwear. Creative minds such as Jonathan Anderson, Creative Director at Dior, Simone Rocha, and Seán McGirr at Alexander McQueen embody the country’s international appeal. A younger generation led by Róisín Pierce, Michael Stewart of Standing Ground, and Robyn Lynch is continuing this trend. Dior is drawing even more attention: In December 2026, the French luxury house will host its first-ever runway show in Ireland.

The Zurich showroom features brands such as Celtic Tweed, John Hanly & Company, Landa Leather, McNutt of Donegal, Moon + Mellow, TED 1942, O’Neil of Dublin, and Urban Aran, among others. Together, they stand for high-quality materials, craftsmanship, responsible production, and unique storytelling.

The beauty and wellness industry is also gaining international prominence. According to Enterprise Ireland, the Irish market for beauty and personal care is now worth more than 1.2 billion U.S. dollars. Founder-led brands, in particular, combine scientific expertise, high-quality ingredients, sustainability, and strong customer loyalty. Cosmetics exports are already projected to reach a volume of 10.5 billion U.S. dollars.

With Inis, Hildun Beauty, and The Smooth Company, the showroom showcases three representatives of this new generation of Irish beauty brands. For buyers, retailers, distributors, stylists, and other industry professionals, the format offers direct access to brands and decision-makers—deliberately in an intimate, commercially oriented setting rather than at a traditional large-scale trade show.
